Leonard K. Kaae
Senior Vice President & General Manager
Mr. Leonard Kaae
provides a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Black Group of Companies having worked in the construction industry for over 36 years. His career with the Black organization spans 25 years throughout the Pacific Rim beginning in Hawaii through Guam, Micronesia and the Philippines. His primary responsibilities include the overall management of Black’s daily field operations, estimating, technical requirements along with coordinating the necessary manpower and equipment resources required for all of the Black companies. His intimate knowledge of the construction markets and requirements of Guam, Micronesia and the Philippines is an invaluable asset having been involved with an extensive amount of Black’s portfolio of construction.
Mr. Kaae’s no-nonsense method of management (approach) has earned him the distinct respect of all who have had the privilege of working with him. His strong belief in teamwork and dedication to his employees has proven instrumental to the success of Black’s day to day operations.
Mr. Kaae’s leadership has brought a new dimension and has set new standards in construction excellence in this part of the world. Because of this, Black has been awarded the coveted title of “Contractor of the Year” by the Guam Contractor’s Association for eight years in a row.
His tenacity in providing safe, quality work while ensuring a firm commitment to customer satisfaction has elevated Black to an unparalleled status in the region.
Thomas E. Anderson
Executive Vice PresidentMr. Thomas Anderson has 47 years of a broad range of construction experience encompassing Building and Engineering construction in both the Public Works and Private sectors of the industry. His experience covers many years in the US domestic market and the Asian marketplace. Mr. Anderson is thoroughly trained and experienced in all aspects of Business Development, construction estimating, business and contract administration, project scheduling, cost analysis and control, field construction operations, accounting and human resources. His experience in managing Black Construction’s offices in Guam, Saipan (CNMI), the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) and the Philippines provides an in-depth knowledge of construction in the foreign market with its unique challenges of logistics, remote locations and limited labor resources. With his leadership, Mr. Anderson brings to a project, knowledge of US and foreign regulations, procedures and construction standards gained through several years of varied and ext ensive construction experience.
Mark J. Mamczarz
Vice President of Finance, Secretary & TreasurerMr. Mark Mamczarz has been responsible for all financial and administrative functions for the Black Group of Companies since 1986. His involvement with the organization dates back to 1981 as an external auditor. He specialized in banking and construction as a CPA and spent more than half his time as an auditor in the Western Pacific. Mr. Mamczarz was promoted to Vice President in 1988 and has retained the position thereafter.
John M. McSweeney
Vice President of Estimating and Business DevelopmentMr. John McSweeney has worked in the construction industry for more than 3 decades. Mr. McSweeney’s assignments have combined field experience as a Construction Manager and Commercial Manager with a core estimating background. John can provide a full service package, including scheduling, feasibility studies, conceptual estimating, value engineering, trade package assembly, Subcontractor negotiation and construction administration.
